In 2009, the Foundation formed a separate 501 c 3, the Manhattan Midrash, with the purpose of providing Meor graduates and other young professionals with a Jewish learning program to continue the Torah study they began while in college and provide a forum for their personal development.
Manhattan Midrash provided the initial test ground for the eventual creation of Meor Manhattan, which is today a $3 million stand alone organization which has created a vibrant Jewish community of young professionals through educational programs, trips, and events right in the heart of New York City. Meor Manhattan’s weekly programs include: Advanced learning nights at the Brownstone, an exclusive women’s community Tuesday nights, Meor in the city — dinner and drinks followed by 30-minute intriguing classes, Hebrew classes, lectures on Jewish thought and philosophy, and notable guest speakers.
Manhattan Midrash continues to run large weekly programs at Perilune Groups midtown office with weekly Torah lectures and study groups led by Torah Links, a division of BMG Lakewood.
